Financial Literacy

Why Starting Early Changes Everything

Research shows that money habits are formed between ages 7-16. The earlier you start, the stronger the foundation.

Age 7 – Foundations Begin
At this stage, children start understanding the value of money. Basic habits around spending, saving, and rewards begin to form naturally.

Ages 8–12 – The Financial Mindset Window
This is the peak period for building strong money habits. Children can learn budgeting basics, goal-setting, saving discipline, and responsible spending decisions.

Ages 13–16 – Real-World Money Readiness
Teenagers are ready to understand deeper financial concepts such as financial planning, earning responsibility, and introductory investing skills.

18+ – Habits Are Harder to Change
By adulthood, money behaviors are often deeply rooted. Without early financial literacy, correcting poor habits can take years of trial and error.

“The best time to teach your child about money was yesterday.
The second-best time is today.”

what we do

Shaping Money-Smart, Confident, and Future-Ready Children

The Pocket Money Workshop was created with one simple belief:
Financial literacy is a life skill, not an optional subject.

While schools teach mathematics and academics, very few teach children how money truly works — how to manage it, save it, grow it, and make thoughtful decisions around it. That gap is where we step in.

We are a dedicated financial literacy program designed for children aged 9–15, focused on building practical money management skills through interactive and real-life learning.

Meet Kirti Rungta

Founder, The Pocket Money Workshop

Kirti Rungta was always the “good student” — top grades, a reputed college, and a secure career path. But like many of us, she realized that academic success does not automatically translate into financial wisdom.

Despite doing everything “right,” Kirti faced real-life money challenges — impulse spending, lack of savings, and limited understanding of investing. Those early financial mistakes became powerful lessons. She recognized a gap that most schools never address: children are rarely taught how money truly works.

Determined to change that, Kirti became a financial literacy coach for kids with a clear mission — to ensure the next generation grows up financially confident, responsible, and emotionally strong.

Through The Pocket Money Workshop, she helps children aged 9–15 understand the value of money, build smart saving habits, develop budgeting skills, and make thoughtful financial decisions from an early age.

As a certified coach and a parent herself, Kirti combines professional knowledge with real-world parenting experience. Her “learn by doing” approach makes financial education practical, relatable, and empowering.

Her goal is simple:
“To make sure children don’t have to learn about money the hard way.”
