Financial Literacy

Why Starting Early Changes Everything?

Research shows that money habits are formed between ages 7-16. The earlier you start, the stronger the foundation.

Age 7 – Foundations Begin
At this stage, children start understanding the value of money. Basic habits around spending, saving, and rewards begin to form naturally.

Ages 8–12 – The Financial Mindset Window
This is the peak period for building strong money habits. Children can learn budgeting basics, goal-setting, saving discipline, and responsible spending decisions.

Ages 13–16 – Real-World Money Readiness
Teenagers are ready to understand deeper financial concepts such as financial planning, earning responsibility, and introductory investing skills.

18+ – Habits Are Harder to Change
By adulthood, money behaviors are often deeply rooted. Without early financial literacy, correcting poor habits can take years of trial and error.

The second-best time is today.”

Shaping Money-Smart, Confident, and Future-Ready Children

The Pocket Money Workshop was created with one simple belief:
Financial literacy is a life skill, not an optional subject.

While schools teach mathematics and academics, very few teach children how money truly works — how to manage it, save it, grow it, and make thoughtful decisions around it. That gap is where we step in.

We are a dedicated financial literacy program designed for children aged 9–15, focused on building practical money management skills through interactive and real-life learning.

Meet Kirti Rungta

Founder, The Pocket Money Workshop

Kirti Rungta’s journey began much like many others—as an average student with a steady academic record—but she soon stood out by scoring an impressive 99 marks in science and securing the first position in her class, reflecting both discipline and strong potential. She went on to pursue civil engineering at NIT while also dedicating time to preparing for competitive exams like IIT, showing her commitment to academic excellence and growth.

After graduation, Kirti entered the corporate world by joining Accenture, where she gained valuable professional experience and real-world exposure. However, despite a stable career path, she felt the need to explore beyond conventional routes, which led her to make a bold entrepreneurial move—leaving her job and relocating to Pune to work with startups, take on new roles, explore side hustles, and conduct entrepreneurship workshops.

Alongside her professional journey, she navigated personal phases such as early motherhood, financial struggles, and emotional challenges, which helped her identify her true direction and purpose. These experiences shaped her into a well-rounded individual focused on impact and long-term value creation, eventually leading her to guide others in their financial journey and wealth-building mindset.
